Creating this 3D illustration in Blender was a multi-step process guided by Sasha Luvr over a multiple part course.
Using Blender, I created the duck from basic shapes.
For texturing, I applied pastel-colored materials to the duck, aiming for a soft, cute look. Procedural textures added subtle color variations to prevent flat surfaces. I then created the sakura-shaped floral elements, arranging them around the duck to enhance the composition.
Lighting was crucial for achieving the desired aesthetic. I used soft area lights to avoid harsh shadows and added point lights for highlights to make the duck and knife stand out.
Through this project, I improved my skills in character modeling and material application, utilised effective composition and lighting techniques, and streamlined my workflow in Blender. Ultimately, this project allowed me to creatively express a playful concept, resulting in a charming and whimsical illustration.
